Schwartz/Reisman Centre: This is only a 4-minute commute comprised of 2.4Km. This is a Jewish community centre that offers some great programs such as different forms of dancing lessons and sports ball soccer. There are also some education programs like Babysitting courses.

Maple Community Centre: Here, it will take 7 minutes approximately to drive the 4.1 km to this centre. It has much to offer like the North Thornhill facility, and there is also family bowling, which is an excellent activity for the entire family at the Maple Bowling Alley.

North Thornhill Community Centre: The furthest away from the Patterson community but still only a 9 minute drive of 5.1 KM. There are some great activities to be enjoyed here, such as the swimming pool. Then there is a great fitness center. For sports lovers, there is skating and hockey.

No matter whether it is toddlers, school-aged children or teens, there is something for all the youth to easily access from Patterson.

Health Care

With some communities facing a shortage in healthcare, this has become more of a concern for families who want to move out to Suburban areas like Patterson. This does not have to be a concern for those who are considering this community for their new living environment. There are several health care facilities in its proximity.

Vaughan Community Health Center

Their primary focus is on youth, seniors and those dealing with mental health issues, including addiction. This is a not-for-profit establishment and is there to help those who are dealing with health care issues.

First Smart Hospital

Not only is there a great hospital that serves those in Patterson, which is the Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital, but the new First Smart Hospital is also coming. This is a Hospital that will be functioning with the latest health care technology and is slated to open in 2020.


Patterson is Policed by the York Region Police, which serves the Vaughan township. The overall crime rate for this community is rated as low. A big plus for the family who is intent on living in a safe environment.


There are many great communities to choose to live in within Vaughan and Patterson is one that deserves to be given some careful thought. It is a great family environment that provides a healthy living lifestyle in an urban setting, yet the kids and the entire family lack nothing when it comes to the positive aspects of city living. An extra advantage of choosing Patterson for raising the family is that not only is it suitable for now but the future as well. Once the kids have left the nest, there is still plenty of positive aspects about Patterson for the adults to remain living here.
